Hapoel Tel Aviv is currently embroiled in a significant internal crisis as two of its leading Israeli players, Tomer Ginat and Bar Timor, have requested immediate release from the club despite being under contract. Both players are considered key figures and symbols of the team in recent years. The club expressed deep disappointment over their decision, especially since alongside Yam Madar, they were among the top Israeli talents on the roster.
Tomer Ginat's dissatisfaction partly stems from financial issues related to his recently upgraded contract, which is tied to the dollar exchange rate. Since the dollar's value has dropped considerably since the contract was signed, Ginat's earnings have been drastically affected. Additionally, Hapoel Tel Aviv suspects that Ginat has already begun negotiations with Hapoel Jerusalem.
Bar Timor's frustration is linked to his limited playing time this season and the lack of trust from coach Dimitris Itoudis, which has visibly affected his morale. Club owner Ofer Yanai currently refuses to release either player, indicating that the team is facing another major challenge following the ongoing situation with Yam Madar. This development adds to the uncertainty surrounding the club's Israeli core players and their future commitments.
