Democrats Party Leader Yair Golan Thwarted in Suspected Stabbing Attempt

The Democrats Party reported that an individual approached party leader Yair Golan in Tel Aviv's Hamesila Park on Tuesday, exhibiting threatening behavior. Golan's security detail intervened, preventing the person from reaching him. As they apprehended the individual, a large knife fell from their clothing. Security personnel immediately secured the suspect before any harm could occur, and police were called to the scene, making an arrest. Following the incident, police elevated Golan's threat level to four out of six. The Shin Bet, Israel's internal security agency, assumed responsibility for Golan's protection as of Tuesday, after a prolonged legal dispute.

In response to the incident, Golan stated, "Incitement and violence will not deter us. This is a direct result of the poison machine run by Netanyahu and his agents. I call on everyone who cares about security and democracy to come out now and vote, so we can ensure the country we love so much returns to being a free and safe place."
