Young Man Murdered in Shooting Attack in Tayibe

A young man, approximately 25 years old, was shot and killed on Tuesday in Tayibe while working. Police are investigating the incident, which appears to be related to a local dispute. Magen David Adom paramedics responded to the scene after receiving a report at 12:36 PM, providing medical treatment to the victim and another injured individual. Both were transported to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba. The victim, who was shot in front of his brother, sustained severe injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. A paramedic described finding one victim unconscious and the other conscious, both suffering from penetrating wounds, and stated they provided life-saving treatment before evacuation. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the shooting, with the Central District Commander, Amir Cohen, expected to visit the scene. Authorities noted that the motive is under investigation and there is no current indication of a connection to the ongoing elections. This incident occurs amidst a backdrop of rising violence in the Arab community, with 185 individuals murdered in such incidents since the beginning of 2026. Coinciding with election day, Arab citizens received phone calls featuring a recording of Susan Sultan, whose sister Suzan Bashara was murdered. In the recording, Sultan urges people to vote in memory of her sister, as part of a campaign by the 'Standing Together' movement to encourage voter turnout in the Arab community.
