  • Counterfeit ballots for Likud and United Torah Judaism were found in Beersheba.
  • Forged ballots incorrectly listed municipal council races instead of national elections.
  • A voter discovered her ballot was invalidated due to the counterfeit paper.
  • The Central Elections Committee is investigating isolated reports of ballot tampering.
  • Voters are urged to verify ballot text and report suspicious papers.

A serious incident occurred Tuesday at a polling station in the Ramot neighborhood of Beersheba, where counterfeit ballots were discovered. The forged ballots bore the party letters for the Likud movement ("MH") and United Torah Judaism ("Gimel"), but with incorrect text printed on them. Footage from the scene revealed that Likud ballots incorrectly stated "The Likud headed by Benjamin Netanyahu for the City Council" instead of for the Knesset. The United Torah Judaism ballots mistakenly printed the name of a different municipal list, "Gesher headed by Shimon Tubul." A resident who unknowingly cast a vote with a forged ballot later discovered her vote was invalidated. This deliberate disruption has raised significant concerns about voter deception and the disqualification of innocent votes. The Central Elections Committee stated that there is no indication of systematic ballot tampering nationwide and that any isolated reports are being handled immediately on the ground. The committee urged voters to check not only the party letters on the ballot but also the full text beneath them, and to report any suspicious ballots to the polling station secretary immediately.
