The Czech Republic's national football teams are actively trying to recruit 17-year-old Israeli midfielder Oriyon Goren, who currently plays for Barcelona. Pavel Nedvěd, the manager of the Czech national teams and a renowned former player, confirmed in a podcast interview that discussions are underway with Goren, his family, and his agent. Nedvěd expressed strong belief in Goren's talent, calling him a "huge talent" not just for Czech-Israeli football but globally.
Nedvěd revealed that the Czech Football Federation has approached Goren multiple times, with coach Santi Denia leading the efforts. He acknowledged that Goren, whose father is Israeli, could choose to play for Israel, making the recruitment task challenging. However, Nedvěd believes the Czech offer has generated interest.
The Czechs are reportedly considering Goren for their senior national team, bypassing youth levels, as they feel he possesses the capability to integrate immediately. Goren, who has represented Israel in youth categories, also holds Czech citizenship through his family roots.
Nedvěd drew a comparison between Goren's playing style and that of Barcelona's Pedri, noting Goren's technical proficiency and suitability for Barcelona's style. Goren recently sat on the bench for Barcelona's El Clásico match against Real Madrid.
