Defense Minister Israel Katz vehemently denied reports circulating on Tuesday evening that there were intentions to dismiss Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir. Katz stated that these publications were fabricated and entirely false, designed to harm the Likud party ahead of the upcoming elections.

"The reports published this evening about an intention to dismiss Chief of Staff Zamir are a fabrication and an absolute lie," Katz clarified. He added that other falsehoods concerning security matters had also been disseminated in the past 24 hours with the aim of damaging the Likud's prospects.

The Defense Minister emphasized his strong working relationship with the Chief of Staff, recalling that he himself had recommended Zamir for the position. "I recommended Zamir's appointment as Chief of Staff, we are working together for the security of the State of Israel with unprecedented historic achievements," he said.

Katz concluded by affirming his intention to continue working alongside the Chief of Staff in the future, thereby refuting claims about any plan to end Zamir's tenure.
