Prominent Israeli media personality Ofira Assayag has stated that anyone convicted of harming women or children should be imprisoned for life, dying in jail. Assayag, a well-known television and radio host, expressed this strong stance in a short video posted on the Instagram account of Radio Tel Aviv (102FM). She emphasized that this proposed law should be a national priority, regardless of who is prime minister.
When asked what first step she would take if she were prime minister, Assayag responded decisively, "Whoever harms a woman or a child must be imprisoned for life." She further clarified that the law concerning the conviction of those who harm women and children should mandate life imprisonment until their last day.
In a separate segment of the conversation, Assayag revealed her emotional choice for a potential new national anthem: Boaz Sharabi's song "Halvay" (If Only). She praised the song's lyrics and its ability to touch the heart, expressing a wish for its sentiments to be realized.
Assayag, who also serves as a judge on the reality show "The Masked Singer," recently made another notable statement. When discussing the possibility of actress Yael Abecassis being under a mask, Assayag humorously remarked that the chance of that happening was as likely as her hosting the main news edition on Fox News. However, when asked by fellow judge Bar Refaeli if she would consider anchoring the news, Assayag surprisingly answered, "Yes," when presented with the hypothetical scenario of replacing news anchor Yonit Levy.
