Hostage Survivor Agam Berger Objects to Democrats Party Campaign Video

Hostage survivor Agam Berger has publicly objected to a campaign video released by the Democrats party, led by Yair Golan. The video incorporates footage from the October 7th attacks alongside political messaging critical of the government.

Berger specifically requested that footage of her appearing in a "migunit" (a type of fortified room or shelter) not be used in the campaign material. The video, titled "Remember," features events from recent years in Israel, including the October 7th attack, the massacre, and the abductions to Gaza. It also includes accusations against the government's conduct and calls for political change in the upcoming elections.

The video's narration states, "Remember those who abandoned the sons and daughters, the soldiers, the kibbutz and neighborhood residents, the dancers who fled to the fields and were abducted to the tunnels." It praises participants in anti-government protests and those who worked to secure the release of hostages, concluding with the message, "Remember. Now is the time to choose whether we stay in the dark or together we light the light."

In response to the video's release, Berger stated, "He whose intention is for the truth and girds himself for war for the truth always wins." She added, "And the truth is that we are not by virtue of strength but by virtue of right and the right of the ancestors." Berger reiterated her explicit demand: "And do not use videos in which I appear in the migunit."
