Sources indicate that several high-ranking officials, including Mossad Chief Roman Gofman, Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Moshe Edri, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and Shin Bet Head David Zini, supported Netanyahu's position. There is conflicting information regarding the stances of Air Force Commander Omer Tishler and Head of Military Intelligence Shlomi Binder, with some sources claiming they backed Netanyahu and others asserting they supported Zamir.

Concerns were raised that the requested military actions could have potentially led to an immediate confrontation with Iran and possibly even postponed the elections.
