Israel's Ministry of Health has issued a public warning against using the hair straightening product "Revival Miracle" following the hospitalization of a woman at Rambam Health Care Campus. Initial investigations revealed that the product is being marketed without proper authorization and contains "glyoxylic acid," an ingredient prohibited for use in hair straightening products in Israel. The ministry became aware of the issue after a report that a woman was admitted to Rambam hospital after undergoing a hair straightening treatment with the product. The ministry's preliminary check indicated that "Revival Miracle" was marketed without a license or a notification of cosmetic marketing. The product label states it is manufactured by "P.R. Colordesign." A ministry representative collected a sample from the salon where the treatment was performed, which will be sent for laboratory testing. The ministry has contacted "P.R. Colordesign" but has not yet received a response. The Ministry of Health emphasized the seriousness of the incident, cautioning that using unauthorized or illegally formulated hair straightening products can endanger public health. The ministry urges the public and salon owners to immediately cease the use, marketing, and sale of "Revival Miracle" and to avoid purchasing it. Consumers are advised to ensure that cosmetic products are legally marketed and have undergone safety checks. The ministry also provided instructions for seeking immediate medical attention and informing healthcare providers about the product used if any adverse symptoms, such as decreased urination, swelling, nausea, vomiting, abdominal or back pain, or extreme fatigue, occur after a hair straightening treatment. The ministry is continuing its investigation and will update the public as findings and lab results become available.
