Extreme Weather Forecast: Rain, Winds, Hail, and Floods Expected

Israel is bracing for a significant shift in weather patterns over the coming days, with forecasts predicting heavy rain, strong winds, hail, and potential flash floods. The Meteorological Service has issued a warning for an unusual and prolonged weather event.

On Tuesday, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy with a drop in temperatures to seasonal norms. Localized rain is expected, primarily in the southern and eastern parts of the country. By the afternoon, these rains are forecast to intensify, bringing thunderstorms, wind gusts, and hail. Significant flash floods are anticipated in the streams of the southern Negev, Arava, Judean Desert, and the Dead Sea region.

Wednesday will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a slight further decrease in temperatures, especially in the mountains and inland areas. Localized rain accompanied by isolated thunderstorms is still expected, mainly in the east and south. The risk of local flash floods in the southern Negev, Arava, Judean Desert, and Dead Sea streams will persist.

Thursday will be partly cloudy with another slight drop in temperatures. Localized rain may fall in the north, and strong winds are expected in most areas. On Friday, the weather will remain partly cloudy, with temperatures dropping further to below seasonal averages in most regions. Localized, mostly light, rains are expected to continue in the north and may occasionally occur in the center of the country.
