Channel 14 is requiring employees to sign strict secrecy agreements, including polygraph tests, to prevent leaks of its upcoming election poll results. The agreement prohibits sharing data with unauthorized individuals and using it for personal gain, with violations potentially leading to termination. Channel 14's poll director, Shlomo Filber, has also publicly criticized rival channels' poll results, which show significantly fewer seats for the Likud party.

  • Channel 14 employees must sign secrecy agreements and consent to polygraph tests to prevent election poll leaks.
  • Leaking poll data or using it for personal gain can lead to termination and legal action.
  • The confidentiality agreement covers all poll data, including partial information and processing methods.
  • Channel 14's poll director, Shlomo Filber, disputes lower seat projections for the Likud party from other channels.
  • Filber criticized rival polls for allegedly inflating smaller parties' seat counts at the Likud's expense.

Channel 14 has implemented strict confidentiality measures for its employees ahead of the upcoming Knesset elections, requiring them to sign a commitment document regarding the election poll results. The agreement mandates that employees refrain from sharing any information, including partial data that could indirectly reveal the poll outcomes, with family, friends, or unauthorized colleagues. It also prohibits sharing information with politicians, activists, party representatives, and candidates.

A significant clause in the document allows the channel to subject employees to a polygraph test if there is suspicion of an information leak. Employees are also forbidden from using the poll data for personal gain, gambling, investment, or to influence political or media activities, or to assist any party in preparing for the results' publication. The agreement also outlines practical security protocols, such as not leaving sensitive information unattended and locking computers when not in use.

Violating the agreement, even through negligence, can be considered a severe disciplinary offense, potentially leading to termination and legal liability. The channel stated that premature exposure of the poll results could cause significant damage, harm its broadcast credibility, and erode public trust. The confidentiality obligation extends beyond the initial poll release, requiring employees to maintain secrecy regarding raw data, processing methods, and work procedures not made public.

Shlomo Filber, who directs Channel 14's election polls, has been critical of polls from competing television channels. He noted that Channel 14's recent polls showed a strong bloc for Netanyahu, with the Likud party receiving around 30 seats, while other channels' polls placed the Likud closer to 20 seats. Filber expressed skepticism about the lower figures, suggesting that other parties were being inflated with seats at the Likud's expense, and stated that the truth would be revealed on election day.
