Channel 13 Anchor Criticizes Fellow Journalist Over Private Communications

Odi Segal, anchor of the main edition for Channel 13 news, has criticized fellow journalist Amit Segal following the exposure of private correspondence between Amit Segal and advisor Yonatan Urich. Odi Segal stated in a podcast interview that their journalistic standards are not the same, rejecting the notion that such conduct is common among reporters. He asserted, "I worked with him and whoever says everyone does it, I don't have that. I have never advised any political advisor to any prime minister over all these years on various things they did."

Odi Segal also addressed a separate incident involving Channel 13 correspondent Suliman Maswadeh, who reportedly stayed in the home of lobbyist Jay Potalik for two weeks. Odi Segal described this as a "serious malfunction" that he is confident will be handled by Tali Ben Ovadia and Itay Dankner. However, he differentiated this from the Amit Segal situation, noting that Maswadeh apologized and that the matter would be further investigated.

Segal emphasized his willingness to voice criticism even when it concerns colleagues, stating, "I am not silent about it." He further distinguished the two cases by saying, "In the second case, it is clear that there was also an impact on the broadcast, and that is a fundamental difference."
