Israeli actress Chali Goldenberg caused a stir on the morning show "Pothim Yom" on Channel 13 when she made sharp remarks about the "occupation and settlers," only to discover the conversation was being broadcast live. Goldenberg initially believed the discussion was during a commercial break and expressed shock upon learning it was live. She later apologized for the intensity and wording of her statements.

The interview, hosted by Elad Zohar and Yarden Harel, was intended to focus on Goldenberg's career but quickly devolved into a heated political debate. Goldenberg declared, "We are occupiers. Yes. Everything that is happening now is the result of the occupation." When pressed by Zohar, she cited "Judaization, the settlers, Jewish terrorism, arrogance" as current issues. She compared the situation to the anti-apartheid struggle in South Africa and referenced the actions of Jewish underground groups during the British Mandate, stating, "A minority has the right to fight for its freedom."

Zohar immediately distanced himself from her remarks, stating, "Not if it massacres civilians, our brothers and sisters, and our soldiers." Harel also expressed disagreement, calling the statement about a minority's right to self-defense "difficult." Zohar emphasized the sensitivity of such discussions so soon after the October 7th attacks, noting the country is still wounded.

The surprising turn occurred when the hosts attempted to steer the conversation back to Goldenberg's acting career. Goldenberg then asked if they were live, and upon confirmation, expressed dismay. "We were live in this conversation? That's not okay," she said, adding, "You didn't say we were back on air. I thought this was an off-line conversation, I didn't know it was a live conversation. I even told you I didn't want to talk about everything I did in the Gaza envelope. I thought we were in commercials."

Towards the end of the interview, Goldenberg addressed the viewers, apologizing for her outburst. She explained that she was unaware the cameras were rolling and spoke more sharply than intended due to the perceived privacy of the moment. "I am a very impulsive person with great passion for speaking, I am all fire and flame. I didn't know we were live," she stated, admitting her "dose of drama and sting was excessive." She requested that the hosts clearly indicate when the cameras are active in the future.
