Hapoel Tel Aviv Chairman Addresses Team's Status and Player Concerns

Hapoel Tel Aviv Chairman Stav Shaham spoke about the team's current situation, including their impressive EuroLeague start and recent domestic league loss. Despite a 70-60 defeat to Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli Basketball League, Shaham expressed confidence in the team's long season ahead and their ability to make adjustments. He also voiced strong faith in the coach, calling him one of Europe's most decorated.

Shaham anticipates a high probability of Hapoel Tel Aviv receiving a EuroLeague license, with a decision expected within three weeks. He hopes the team will be among the initial group of 4 to 6 clubs and believes they will be able to host games in Israel by December. Regarding player Jacob Toppin, Shaham stated that his citizenship issue is a minor bureaucratic matter that will be resolved very soon.

The chairman also addressed concerns about player Tamar Blatt, revealing he received a worried call from coach Dimitris Itoudis. Itoudis had planned for Blatt to play against Jerusalem but was forced to change his strategy due to a sensitivity felt during practice. Shaham noted that Itoudis's interest in Blatt has shifted, contrasting with previous sentiments.

Following the game, Itoudis commented on Blatt's availability, stating it depends on the player and medical staff, and that Blatt would return once he trains with the team and integrates.
