The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the discovery of an underground chamber adjacent to the home of one of the terrorists involved in a clash last weekend. The find was made during a counter-terrorism operation in Hebron, led by the Judea Brigade, on Sunday.
The excavation was located during extensive searches following the Friday firefight in Hebron, which resulted in the deaths of Sergeant Major Ron Yonatan Reitman and Sergeant Yuval Shai Suilam, and injuries to three other soldiers. The operation aims to apprehend suspects, seize illegal weapons, and confiscate unlawful vehicles.
Initial investigations suggest the chamber has no exit and is approximately 15 meters deep and 75 centimeters wide. It is located within the city of Hebron, not near any Israeli settlement. An electronic device was recovered from the chamber and handed over to security forces for further investigation.
Forces are continuing their thorough searches and operations in the area.
