A Tel Aviv court ordered on Monday the extension of detention for a prominent "Big Brother" reality show contestant by three days. The decision comes amid an intensive police investigation into allegations of severe violence against his former girlfriend, fitness coach Yana Aronov.
A significant development in the case occurred when investigators conducted a lengthy and tense confrontation between the reality star and Aronov at a police station. Sources close to the investigation reported that during the confrontation, the suspect accused Aronov, stating, "You made me behave like this and lose my temper." Aronov, however, claimed her broken arm resulted from him pushing her to the ground during a street chase, a claim he denied, insisting her fall was not his fault.
Police collected security footage from nearby businesses that allegedly document the encounter between the two. Associates of Aronov described their relationship as "toxic" and "violent," alleging four years of abuse, infidelity, and physical and verbal aggression. They stated that a physical altercation occurred three days prior in front of friends, and despite his repeated promises to change, the behavior persisted, leaving her "broken."
The case initially came to light with the reality star's arrest on Saturday night, under a gag order regarding his identity. The arrest followed the recent end of their relationship, with whom they share a child. Aronov broke her silence on social media with a cast on her arm, expressing disbelief at the situation and stating she needed peace and time to heal and strengthen.
The coming days are expected to be crucial for the investigation. Investigators will need to build a solid evidentiary foundation, considering the security camera footage and the defense's claims of contradictions, while the reality star remains in custody until the end of his extended detention period.
