The father of an 18-year-old Palestinian woman critically injured by fire from a security coordinator, Pinchas Ran, stated that his daughter's condition remains serious. "She is feeling very bad mentally and is very tired. She was on the verge of death," said the father, identified as M. He described the volley of shots fired at her as "lethal" and "intended to kill." Ran has since been moved to house arrest.

According to the father, his daughter, who recently married, was in a vehicle with her husband when the security coordinator opened fire from approximately 200 meters away, close to their home. He claims Ran fired more than ten bullets at the car. One bullet struck near her heart, and another hit her leg. She was initially taken to a hospital in Nablus before being transferred to Sheba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer, Israel, where a shrapnel fragment was surgically removed.

The father urged Israeli authorities to investigate the incident and ensure justice through the Israeli legal system, stating, "The police need to investigate why he did this. We demand that Israeli law bring justice. The Rabbishatz must stand trial under the law."

On Friday, the prosecution filed an indictment and a request for detention until the proceedings against Ran, the security coordinator for Gidonim Ridge, conclude. The indictment alleges that in mid-September, Ran left his home in Givot Olam settlement with a career officer and drove to Damaski Farm. During the journey, they deviated from their route and entered the village of Akraba, outside Ran's jurisdiction. There, it is claimed, Ran stopped several passersby and checked their identity cards without authorization.

Shortly thereafter, the indictment states, Ran ordered a vehicle carrying the couple to stop. The woman's husband, identified as R., recognized that they were not soldiers and that one of them was masked. Fearing violence, he accelerated past the Range Rover. In response, Ran allegedly fired at least three bullets at the rear of the vehicle, hitting the woman in the back. Ran is also accused of attempting to obstruct the investigation twice: he returned to the scene to search for shell casings and later denied hearing about any shooting in the area when questioned by security officials.

The Honenu organization, representing Ran, stated that he is an outstanding security coordinator with over 600 days of reserve duty and is the brother of a fallen soldier, Major Or Yosef Ran, who was killed on October 7th in the battle of Kfar Aza. The organization claims a vehicle without license plates sped towards Ran and the officer in what appeared to be an attempted ramming. According to them, the two jumped aside to escape, and Ran fired into the air to stop the vehicle, which then fled into the village.
