Tel Aviv and Ashdod Offer Free Parking on Election Day

The municipalities of Tel Aviv and Ashdod have announced free parking for residents on election day, Tuesday, October 27. In Ashdod, parking in areas marked with blue and white lines will be free from 6:00 AM on Tuesday for 24 hours, aiming to ease access to polling stations. The Ashdod municipality clarified that this exemption applies only to designated parking spots and does not permit parking in prohibited areas or in violation of traffic laws. Tel Aviv has implemented a similar measure, offering free parking in blue and white marked zones throughout the city for the entire election day. Additionally, the company "Ahuzot HaHof" will provide the first hour of parking free of charge at all its lots. Companies operating scooter and bicycle rentals in Tel Aviv will also offer free rides on election day. In a related measure, the Central Elections Committee has arranged for free travel on trains and intercity buses. This service will be available from 8:00 PM on Monday, October 26, until public transportation services conclude on election day. Passengers on trains will need to obtain a paper ticket at the station, and a voucher must be pre-arranged for round trips to Jerusalem.
