A 17-year-old from Ofakim has been indicted for allegedly throwing a stun grenade into a backyard where a birthday party was taking place, endangering approximately 20 guests. According to the indictment filed by prosecutor Assaf Bar Yosef of the Southern District Attorney's Office (Criminal), the minor left his home armed with the stun grenade. He approached the house where the celebration was held, wearing black clothing and a face covering, with only his eyes visible. The party was for the homeowner, while her two children, aged 6 and 9, slept inside. The indictment states the teenager observed his surroundings to ensure no one approached. After a passing vehicle moved away, he briefly removed his face covering to avoid suspicion before returning. Moments later, he confirmed no other vehicles were present and threw the grenade towards the yard with the intent to frighten those present, then fled.
