Israeli Prospect Oriyon Goren Makes Barcelona's El Clásico Squad

Oriyon Goren, an Israeli prospect described as a "diamond," was named to the Barcelona squad for the massive El Clásico match against Real Madrid on Sunday. The young talent, who joined Barcelona at age 13 and a half, was called up by coach Xavi Hernández and could potentially play in the high-profile game.

Two of Goren's former coaches, Eden Weinstein and Zach Yosef, spoke about his development and potential. They highlighted his unique talent and the supportive family environment that has fostered his growth. The coaches have maintained a close relationship with Goren, providing professional and mental support, and have visited Barcelona's La Masia training facility multiple times. They noted that Sergi Milà, the professional director of La Masia, acknowledged their work when Goren was included in the squad.

Weinstein and Yosef emphasized Goren's impressive progress, particularly in the past year, noting his rapid development since joining the youth team as a player born in 2009. They described him as a role model for younger players due to his maturity, positive attitude, and leadership qualities, characterizing him as having the "nature of a captain."

While acknowledging Goren's exceptional one-on-one abilities and playmaking skills, his coaches also pointed to areas for improvement, such as increasing shots on goal, aligning with Barcelona's playing style. They praised his physical development and mental strength, stating his thinking process is "amazing."

Regarding his international future, Goren's coaches expressed their strong desire for him to represent Israel, emphasizing his deep connection to the country and family. They stated that the choice ultimately rests with him and that they will support any decision he makes, while expressing confidence in his future achievements regardless of his path.

They also discussed his current placement with Barcelona B, under coaches like Xavi Hernández and with Busquets as an assistant, highlighting the valuable training he is receiving. The coaches believe Goren's natural development is key, and that the structured training at Barcelona, focusing on a consistent 4-3-3 system, is beneficial for his long-term growth.
