Maccabi Tel Aviv Won't Profit From Milson's Transfer Despite Clause
More than two years after Angolan player Milson left Maccabi Tel Aviv for Red Star Belgrade, the Israeli club will not benefit financially from his upcoming transfer. Milson, who was loaned in February to Al Jazira in the United Arab Emirates, is expected to move permanently for 4.5 million euros. Maccabi Tel Aviv had included a clause in the original sale agreement to Red Star entitling them to 15% of any future transfer fee difference. However, since Milson was sold to Red Star for 6 million euros and the new transfer fee to Al Jazira is lower, the clause does not apply. The clause covers only the profit margin between the two transfer fees, not a percentage of the total transfer amount. Therefore, Maccabi Tel Aviv will not receive any money from this deal, ending hopes of earning from Milson's subsequent moves.
