Netanyahu Vows IDF Action in Hebron Neighborhoods After Attack

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Friday that the IDF will enter neighborhoods in Hebron from which terrorists emerged, evacuate residents, and dismantle terror infrastructure. Speaking from the scene of a recent attack, Netanyahu stated that Israel is prepared for a broad operation in the West Bank, aiming to destroy and completely alter the areas used for terror. He likened the planned operation to a successful model used in refugee camps, which he described as terror strongholds. The IDF will go house-to-house to find weapons and eliminate terror infrastructure.

Netanyahu also revealed that a closure, or 'siege,' has been imposed on the cities of Hebron and Dura, and that this model might be expanded to other cities. He further mentioned that illegal structures along routes will be cleared at an accelerated pace, as they pose a threat to Israeli forces. The Prime Minister also indicated that he and the Defense Minister have witnessed preparations for a large-scale IDF operation in the West Bank, the likes of which have not been seen since the Six-Day War, and that it is imminent.

Addressing settlers, Netanyahu praised their resilience and stated that while terror infrastructure will be destroyed, settlement infrastructure will be built. He mentioned plans for over 100 new settlements and outposts, in addition to existing ones, emphasizing a dual approach of dismantling terror and expanding settlements.
