Hamas Militants Blamed for Terror Attack Near Hebron; Five Injured

Hamas militants carried out a terror attack near Hebron on the morning of October 23, according to an initial investigation by MADA (the Israeli Emergency Medical Services). The terrorist organization Hamas has declared the attackers "heroes" and praised their actions. The assailants were killed during the incident, and authorities are searching for potential accomplices. MADA reported that five people were wounded, two critically and three lightly. The injured are reportedly around 20 years old. Two were taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, with injuries ranging from light to moderate, while another lightly wounded individual was transported to Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center. Security forces discovered a large cache of ammunition in the vehicle of the two neutralized terrorists, who were killed at the Yehuda junction after the attack. Security assessments suggest the militants intended to carry out a larger-scale attack, possibly aiming for Highway 35 to target Israeli citizens. The attack was thwarted by soldiers from the "Ari" battalion of the Home Front Command's rescue and training brigade, who engaged the terrorists. Hebron and the nearby village of Halhul have been completely cordoned off. The IDF has measured the homes of the deceased terrorists, indicating a potential for demolition.
