Bnei Brak Tops List as Israel's Safest Large City Despite 2022 Terror Attack

According to a recent personal security survey by the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics, Bnei Brak is the safest large city in Israel. An impressive 92.9% of Bnei Brak residents reported feeling secure in their neighborhoods, the highest percentage among cities with populations over 200,000. The city also led in residents' confidence walking alone at night, with 86.3% expressing a sense of safety. Furthermore, only 17.4% of Bnei Brak inhabitants reported fear of terror attacks, the lowest rate among surveyed cities, despite a deadly shooting attack in the city in 2022 that claimed five lives.

In contrast, Beersheba ranked as the city where residents feel the least safe. The survey found that 43.5% of Beersheba's population fears terror incidents near their homes, the highest in Israel. Additionally, only 63.8% of Beersheba residents felt safe walking alone after dark, the lowest among the cities surveyed. Beersheba also had the highest proportion of residents worried about crime or violence.

These findings highlight significant differences in perceived personal security across Israeli cities, with Bnei Brak standing out for its residents' strong sense of safety despite recent security challenges.
