The incident was reported to Magen David Adom (MDA) at 1:23 PM, when the child was brought to a local clinic in Hura. He was then transported to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva for further treatment.
"We received a report about a child who was injured and brought to a local clinic in Hura," said Ahmed Aasam, an emergency medical technician. "Medical personnel at the scene provided treatment to the child, who was apparently hit by a bus. We continued the medical treatment and evacuated him in an MDA intensive care unit to the hospital while performing resuscitation efforts, as his condition was critical and we are continuing to fight for his life."
The police stated that traffic accident investigators from the Negev region have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the road accident that occurred on Highway 316 involving a bus, which is suspected of hitting a pedestrian and fleeing the scene. Officers have begun searching for the driver and collecting evidence at the scene.
