Israeli Police Report 14% Drop in Arab Community Homicides

The Israeli Police announced a nearly 14% decrease in homicides within the Arab community since the beginning of 2026, compared to the same period last year. These figures were presented during a professional session led by Inspector General of Police, Major General Dani Levi, with the participation of police commanders and officials. The meeting focused on homicide data across the country since the start of 2026. Levi stated that the current statistics are the best in the last three years, indicating a downward trend in homicides, though he emphasized that "every murder is one too many." He pledged to intensify efforts against criminal organizations, targeting their infrastructure, funding, and operational capabilities, and to bring those involved in serious crimes to justice. Levi also expressed his appreciation for the police force and its personnel for their round-the-clock efforts in combating crime, affirming the police's commitment to working "with all strength, in every place and every community" to enhance public personal security.
