Maccabi Ramat Gan, a basketball club, is experiencing a significant shake-up as its chairman of the past eight years, Chen Schneiderman, announced his upcoming departure. Schneiderman informed the new team owners that he will be ending his tenure soon, citing management disagreements as the reason for his exit.
During Schneiderman's time as chairman, the club achieved considerable success, ascending from the National League to the Premier League and returning to European competition after a 20-year absence. Furthermore, the club's youth division was re-established as one of the leading programs in Israel.
Schneiderman's departure follows that of coach Shmulik Brenner, who also recently concluded his approximately six-year term with the club. The exits of both Schneiderman and Brenner mark the departure of two key figures who played a substantial role in the team's recent development.
This transition comes nearly a year after Schneiderman's son, Itai, sustained a head injury during a youth league basketball game.
