The 63-year-old musician shared the news on Instagram, stating he needs to step away to address a sudden and "fairly serious" medical condition without providing further details.
In his statement, Noodles expressed his regret, writing, "With deep regret I have to announce that I need to take a break from live performances to deal with a sudden and fairly serious health issue." He added that his bandmates are supportive and will continue performing in his absence, expressing hope to return to the stage as soon as possible. He concluded by thanking fans for their well wishes and support.
Just days before his announcement, Noodles performed with the band in San Diego on Sunday. The band has upcoming shows scheduled in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Garden Grove, and Mexico City, with another Los Angeles date in January.
The Offspring, formed in 1984 in Orange County, California, is known for hits like "Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)". Noodles joined the band a year after its formation and has been a consistent member since. The current lineup includes bassist Todd Morse, multi-instrumentalist Jonah Nimoy, and drummer Brandon Pertzborn.
Over their career spanning more than four decades, The Offspring have released 11 studio albums, sold over 45 million records worldwide, and are credited with bringing punk rock into the mainstream in the 1990s. Their 1994 album "Smash," released on the independent label Epitaph Records, was a major breakthrough, featuring hits like "Come Out and Play," "Self Esteem," and "Gotta Get Away." It reached number four on the Billboard 200 and sold over 11 million copies globally, earning six-time platinum status in the US and becoming the best-selling album ever released by an independent label.
The band has received numerous awards, including Billboard Music Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards. The Offspring last performed in Israel in July 2023 at Expo Tel Aviv.
