Israeli Minister of Social Equality and the Advancement of Women, Mei Golan, was questioned on October 21st by the Lahav 433 fraud investigation unit. The minister's appearance came after a prolonged criminal investigation during which she had reportedly avoided police visits and presenting her account of events, according to the publication Calcalist. The investigation into Golan and her associates centers on suspicions of aggravated bribery, fraud, breach of trust, document forgery, and false testimony. Law enforcement officials indicated that the case involves allegations of misuse of state funds, sham employment, and concealment of funding sources, including through the "Jewish City" association.

Four months prior, police had announced the conclusion of their investigation due to the minister's refusal to cooperate, forwarding the case materials to the prosecution. However, the Attorney General's Office recently requested that Golan be given an opportunity to present her position. A statement from the minister's office asserted that Golan herself instructed her lawyers to arrange the visit to refute the accusations. Golan described the situation as a "campaign of persecution" and expressed confidence that the truth would prevail.

As part of this ongoing investigation, police have previously questioned dozens of witnesses and suspects, including close associates of Minister Golan.
