Bnei Sakhnin is experiencing a positive momentum shift after a slow start to the season. Under coach Yossi Abuksis, the team has secured seven points in their last three matches, placing them just one point outside the top six. Despite being the highest earner on the team with an annual salary of approximately 200,000 euros, Antonio Spohr has not played in the last two games. During this period, the team earned a point against Maccabi Tel Aviv and defeated Hapoel Petah Tikva at home.

Spohr, who was a key player for Bnei Raina last season and previously starred for Hapoel Be'er Sheva, has seen a significant decline in his standing with Bnei Sakhnin. He started the first three matches of the season, but his current benching indicates a diminished role. Coach Abuksis's demands for attacking players include dynamism, aggression, and defensive contribution, which may not align with Spohr's current performance.

Despite the change in his on-field status, Spohr is reportedly maintaining a business-as-usual demeanor. The club's management believes he will still play and contribute to the team. In a separate team matter, striker Itamar Shviro is expected to miss the upcoming match against Ironi Kiryat Shmona due to a knee injury. Shviro, who joined from Ironi Tiberias and has made two appearances, also missed the game against Hapoel Petah Tikva.
