The Swords of Iron Warriors Forum has petitioned Israel's High Court of Justice demanding a criminal investigation into Channel 14 for alleged severe security leaks during the war. The forum claims law enforcement has ignored complaints detailing numerous censorship violations by the channel, some of which have been confirmed to have harmed national security. The petition cites over 13 specific incidents, including the exposure of intelligence assets and troop movements, and argues that the lack of action violates the principle of equality before the law.

The Swords of Iron Warriors Forum, led by retired Colonel Hanoch Dova, has filed a petition with the High Court of Justice (Bagatz) demanding a criminal investigation and administrative proceedings against Channel 14, its management, and employees for alleged severe security leaks during the war. The forum stated that the petition was filed after law enforcement agencies failed to address detailed complaints submitted in recent months, which outlined numerous serious censorship violations by Channel 14. The Censorate itself had previously determined that some of these violations harmed national security.

The petition names State Prosecutor Amit Isman, Deputy State Prosecutor Alon Altman, Police Investigations and Intelligence Division Commander Boaz Balt, and Chief Military Censor Brigadier General Natanel Kula as respondents. Also listed as respondents are Channel 14's operating company, owner Yitzhak Mirilashvilli, CEO Ariel Adri, Head of News Yoram Cohen, and presenters, commentators, and reporters Shimon Riklin, Yaakov Bardugo, Yinon Magal, Tamar Murg, Yehuda Schlesinger, Tal Meir, and retired General Yiftah Ron-Tal.

Filed by attorney Idan Seger, the petition details over 13 documented incidents where Channel 14 and its employees allegedly exposed highly sensitive security information. The channel also allegedly published operational plans and exposed underground targets slated for attack.

According to the petition, the Censorate had already determined that the channel's publication of the intelligence-gathering asset "actually caused real security damage." In another case concerning an operational plan in Iran, the Chief Censor told the channel's CEO it was a "severe censorship violation." Despite these findings, no criminal investigation was initiated in either case. The petitioners argue this demonstrates a breakdown in the authority of enforcement bodies.

The petition highlights a severe blow to the principle of equality before the law due to the lack of enforcement actions against Channel 14. The petitioners contrast the inaction regarding Channel 14 with the swift handling of other leak cases, such as the "Bild affair" which led to an indictment within weeks, the investigation into the leak of a video from "Yemen Field," and Shin Bet investigations into other leak incidents.
