Virtus Bologna Stuns Olympiacos with Buzzer-Beating Three-Pointer

Virtus Bologna secured a dramatic 96-94 victory over defending European champions Olympiacos in a thrilling EuroLeague matchup on Thursday. The game, considered one of the season's most exciting so far, saw former Galil Elyon player Marcus Carr hit a game-winning three-pointer as the buzzer sounded.

Carr was a standout performer for Bologna, scoring 8 points in the first quarter, while teammate Tyler Dorsey added 15 points, shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from beyond the arc. The game remained close, with Olympiacos leading 50-49 at halftime. Bologna took a five-point lead into the final quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Ambijaye Eneadi was dominant, scoring 19 points and hitting what appeared to be a game-winning basket with just five seconds left. However, Carr had other plans, sinking the decisive three-pointer to seal the win for the home team.

This victory marks Bologna's first of the season after two losses, bringing their record to 2-1. Olympiacos, suffering their first defeat of the season, now stands at 1-2 and will look to rebound against Anadolu Efes in their next game.

In other EuroLeague action, Monaco defeated Anadolu Efes 77-72, a game overshadowed by an Achilles tendon injury to Monaco's Mike James, potentially jeopardizing his season. Chima Moneke led Monaco with 18 points and 6 rebounds, while Jordan Loyd scored 15. In another close contest, Paris edged out Zalgiris Kaunas 82-78 for their first win of the season.
