Shortly after Iran’s UN ambassador said Israeli attacks in Lebanon were a “red line” for Tehran, the IDF confirmed that it had struck what it described as a terrorist cell in southern Lebanon. The military did not provide further operational details in the brief statement.
Hezbollah responded by calling the strike a violation of the ceasefire. The article does not specify when the ceasefire was reached, but the group framed the attack as a breach of the existing understandings on the ground.
Iran also reacted to reports that one person was killed in southern Lebanon. In its response, Tehran said that “any violation of the memorandum of understandings will challenge the peace process,” linking the strike to broader tensions over the Lebanon front and Israel’s military activity there.
