Border Police Secure Old City for Priestly Blessing Amid Passover Crowds
Large contingents of Border Police officers were deployed early Thursday throughout Jerusalem's Old City and the Western Wall plaza to secure the traditional Priestly Blessing ceremony during the intermediate days of Passover. Forces from the Jerusalem Border Police district, national brigades, and the corps' National Guard are involved in maintaining public order and ensuring the safety of thousands of worshippers and visitors.
Commander of the Border Police, Superintendent General Baruch Yitzhak, visited the deployed forces on Thursday morning. He observed their readiness and operational activities firsthand and commended the officers for their determination and professionalism in carrying out their mission.
The Border Police will continue to operate with reinforced forces in the Old City and the Western Wall area to facilitate the holiday events and maintain public security.
