The Palestinian Muay Thai Federation recently organized its sixth school championship, while the Palestinian Wushu Kung Fu Federation celebrated the graduation of a new cohort of athletes in Gaza. The Muay Thai championship, held at the Majed Asaad Hall, saw 372 participants from the Ramallah and Al-Bireh and Jerusalem directorates. Participation from other directorates was not possible due to "current circumstances." The event featured strong competition across age groups, aiming to provide participants with direct experience, practical skills development, and refinement of their combat abilities. The organizing committee implemented a system of matching players of similar experience levels to ensure fair competition. The Al-Issawiya school secured first place, followed by Rawabi, Qalandia, and Al-Najah schools. This initiative aligns with the federation's strategy to promote the sport in schools and identify future talent.
In Gaza, the Palestinian Wushu Kung Fu Federation held a graduation ceremony at the "Be One Gym" for a new group of athletes, awarding them their belts. This event underscored the determination to maintain activity despite current challenges. Supervised by Captain Abdullah Abu Rizq and attended by Captain Ahmed Al-Atla, the ceremony honored participants who successfully completed their training and technical and physical assessments. The federation stated that the event is part of its ongoing efforts to support sports activities, provide safe training opportunities for children and youth in Gaza, and encourage them to practice martial arts under the guidance of specialized coaches.
