Two Businesses Closed After 13 Illegal Workers Were Found

Southern District Police Chief Cmdr. Haim Bublil signed administrative closure orders for a factory in Gan Yavneh area and a bakery in Shגב שלום after police found 13 undocumented workers employed there without permits. The closures are part of a targeted enforcement campaign against illegal stay and the employment of undocumented Palestinians, which police say endangers public safety.

At the factory near Gan Yavneh, officers from the Kiryat Malakhi station carried out an inspection and found 10 people in Israel without authorization. They were arrested and taken for questioning, and after the initial investigation the station’s licensing officers, יחד with the Lachish District, advanced the closure process. Following a recommendation from the Southern District legal adviser, Bublil signed a 30-day administrative closure order for the plant on Tuesday.

In a parallel operation on Monday, June 17, police found three undocumented workers from the West Bank employed at a bakery in Shגב שלום. The workers were arrested and moved to the Shגב שלום police station for further investigation. After the findings were reviewed, police moved to shut the bakery, and Bublil signed a separate 30-day closure order yesterday.

Police said the intensified campaign will continue at businesses and construction sites in order to improve public security and safety.
