ועדת הבחירות המרכזית דחתה היום (יום שלישי) את כל הבקשות שהוגשו לפסילת מפלגת עוצמה יהודית מהתמודדות בבחירות לכנסת. הבקשות נגעו לחשדות שהמפלגה פועלת בניגוד לחוק יסוד: הכנסת, האוסר על מפלגה או מועמד לפרסם דברי תעמולה התומכים בשלילת קיומה של מדינת ישראל, או בשלילת אופייה הדמוקרטי. הוועדה קבעה כי לא נמצאה עילה לפסילת המפלגה. השר לביטחון לאומי, איתמר בן גביר, שהוא גם יו"ר מפלגת עוצמה יהודית, בירך על ההחלטה וציין כי "הדמוקרטיה ניצחה".
