Jewish Power Party Seeks to Disqualify Arab Party from Elections
The far-right Jewish Power party has submitted a request to the Central Elections Committee to disqualify the Arab Ra'am party and its leader, Mansour Abbas, from participating in the upcoming elections. Party chairman Itamar Ben-Gvir stated that Ra'am, which he described as 'a wolf in sheep's clothing,' should be removed from the Knesset, accusing Abbas and his associates of being 'terrorist supporters of Hamas.'
The 39-page petition argues that Ra'am denies Israel's existence as a Jewish state and supports armed struggle by enemy states and terrorist organizations against it. According to a party statement, the request includes a report from the Registrar of Associations concerning the 'Aid 48' organization, which is linked to Ra'am. This report details financial transfers and cooperation with terrorist entities.
