Trump's Peace Council Announces $2.45 Billion Gaza Reconstruction Plan

During the UN General Assembly, the Trump Peace Council announced a $2.45 billion plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip. The council, established by former President Trump, stated that the program will commence soon. The announcement, made during a meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, detailed that the funds will be allocated across 66 different programs over six months, focusing on immediate needs like housing, diesel-powered electricity generation, and waste removal.

Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and a member of the Peace Council, acknowledged during the meeting that despite global pledges totaling $18 billion, only $280 million has been transferred so far, causing delays. "The project has encountered various delays for one reason or another. The goal today was actually just to show you that we are fully committed to carrying out the mission," Kushner stated.

Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff, also present, highlighted progress over the past year, including the return of hostages, an ongoing ceasefire, and significant humanitarian aid. He noted that billions of dollars have been donated and pledged for urgent needs and long-term reconstruction.

However, the Peace Council estimates that Gaza's reconstruction will require at least $71.4 billion over the next decade. Council members intend to urge countries that have pledged funds to fulfill their commitments promptly.
