Iran's delegation at the Swiss negotiations with the United States asked for a pause after a series of Donald Trump social media posts sharply escalated tensions, according to a report aired Sunday on News 14 by Iran correspondent Dror Blazadeh. The Iranians have not formally quit the talks, but they want time to cool tempers before discussions continue.

Mediators from Qatar and Pakistan are working with Washington to ease the crisis and help restart the dialogue as early as Monday. Their effort is focused on getting Trump to issue a conciliatory message that could lower the temperature and allow the sides to return to the table.
