לוחמי יחידת דובדבן של צה"ל, בשיתוף פעולה עם כוחות שב"כ, סיכלו במהלך יום הכיפורים האחרון ניסיון לפיגוע טרור סמוך לג'נין. הכוחות עצרו שני מחבלים פלסטינים שהיו בדרכם לבצע פיגוע בטווח הזמן המיידי. על פי הדיווח, המחבלים תכננו לבצע את הפיגוע בטווח הזמן המיידי. פרטים נוספים על זהות המחבלים או על סוג הפיגוע המתוכנן לא פורסמו. הפעולה המהירה של לוחמי דובדבן והשב"כ מנעה פגיעה אפשרית באזרחים או בחיילים. הפעילות התבצעה כחלק מהמאמץ המתמשך למניעת טרור ביהודה ושומרון.
