יושב ראש מפלגת העבודה, יאיר גולן, טוען כי המסמכים והעדויות שפורסמו לאחרונה ב'7 ימים' מוכיחים שראש הממשלה בנימין נתניהו ידע על הזרמת כספים מקטאר לזרוע הצבאית של חמאס, החל משנת 2019. גולן כתב ברשת החברתית X כי כל ועדת חקירה ממלכתית תגיע למסקנה שנתניהו שימש כמממן של חמאס, וכי הוא דבק במדיניות זו למרות שידע שהיא פוגעת בביטחון ישראל ומסכנת את אזרחי המדינה. לדברי גולן, נתניהו ידע את כל הפרטים אך בחר להמשיך לממן את ארגון הטרור.
