ראש ישיבת 'מאור התלמוד' וחבר מועצת גדולי התורה, הרב אברהם יצחק הכהן קוק, ערך היום (חמישי) את מנהג פדיון הכפרות על תרנגול בלשכתו, במעמד מצומצם של תלמידיו הבכירים. לאחר מכן, הועבר התרנגול לידי שוחט מומחה שביצע את השחיטה ברחבת הישיבה. מיד בתום השחיטה, קיים הרב קוק את מצוות כיסוי הדם, במעמד מאות מבני הישיבה וקהל רב שהגיעו לצפות בתיעוד המיוחד.
