Bnei Brak Residents Observe Kapparot Ritual Ahead of Yom Kippur
Thousands of residents in Bnei Brak are participating in the Kapparot ritual in the city streets in the days leading up to Yom Kippur. This tradition involves swinging a chicken over one's head while reciting a prayer, symbolizing the atonement for sins. Following the ritual, residents line up to have the fowl slaughtered by observant butchers. The meat from the slaughtered chickens is then distributed to the poor.
