בית המשפט העליון, בבג"ץ, הורה על הסרת מבנים שנבנו באופן לא חוקי בחוף בורה בורה שעל שפת הכנרת. בנוסף, הוחלט כי יש לאפשר גישה חופשית לציבור לאזור החוף. ההחלטה ניתנה בעקבות עתירה שהוגשה בנושא, והיא מבטלת למעשה את המצב הקיים המונע מהציבור הרחב ליהנות מהחוף.

ההחלטה של בית המשפט מדגישה את החשיבות של שמירה על שטחים פתוחים ונגישים לציבור, ומהווה תקדים בנוגע לבנייה בלתי חוקית באזורי טבע ונופש. כעת, הרשויות יידרשו לפעול ליישום פסק הדין ולהבטיח את פתיחת החוף לכלל המבקרים.
