Police Arrest Suspect in Sophisticated Car Theft Ring Using Tow Trucks

Israeli police arrested a suspect in the town of Bnei Ayish on Tuesday evening in connection with a sophisticated car theft operation. The arrest followed the discovery of a tow truck, believed to be used in the thefts, in the same town. Authorities suspect the tow truck's presence was linked to an attempt to steal two additional vehicles.

Patrol officers and combatants from the Sahar Brigade responded to a report of the tow truck's location and apprehended the suspect. The tow truck was seized for further investigation. The operation is connected to the theft of three vehicles and a recreational off-road vehicle (RZR) from Bnei Ayish on Monday.

An investigation was launched after police received reports of multiple vehicle thefts from the town. Investigators suspect two tow trucks were used to remove the stolen vehicles, making the operation appear as routine towing. The stolen vehicles were allegedly transported via the tow trucks through the Na'alin crossing.

Upon locating one of the tow trucks again in Bnei Ayish, police believed it was being prepared for another attempt to remove vehicles from the town, this time targeting two more cars. The arrested suspect is being questioned, and police are examining his potential involvement in previous thefts. The seized tow truck is undergoing forensic examination.
