המתח בין עופר וינטר, מועמד לראשות מפלגת "הציונות הדתית", לבין מפלגת הליכוד, עלה מדרגה. וינטר התייחס לראשונה למתקפות נגדו מצד הליכוד, וטען כי "ניסו לפרק אותנו, ניסו לאיים עלינו". הוא גם התייחס לדבריו של יו"ר "ישראל ביתנו", אביגדור ליברמן, ואמר כי "מי שבונה על שותפים בכירים כמו יאיר גולן לא יכול להכריע".

בתגובה לדברי וינטר, הליכוד השיב באש וכינה את טענותיו "שקר מוחלט". בנוסף, הליכוד איים להגיש תביעת דיבה נגד וינטר. הפרסום המקורי של הדברים היה באתר "עמך ישראל", אך הובהר במהירות.
