Netanyahu and Likud Threaten Lawsuit Against Ofer Winter Over 'Absolute Lies'

Tensions within the right-wing bloc have escalated as Ofer Winter, chairman of the 'Amcha Israel' party, accused the Likud party and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's inner circle of waging an aggressive campaign against him and his party members. Speaking at an activists' conference in Rishon LeZion on Tuesday, Winter alleged that Likud elements have employed threats, surveillance, and political sabotage tactics against his party. He cited harsh statements allegedly made by Likud ministers and candidates, which he claims called for his political 'dismantling' and 'elimination,' despite these same individuals having previously attempted to secure spots for him and his colleagues on the Likud list.

Winter sharply criticized Netanyahu's advisors, labeling them as "disconnected from the field." He warned that an attack on 'Amcha Israel,' which he stated includes reservists and combat soldiers, constitutes a "magnificent own goal" for the entire right-wing bloc. Despite what he described as slanderous messages and the use of private investigators, Winter asserted that his party remains undeterred and will continue its political efforts.

In response, the Likud party vehemently denied Winter's accusations, calling them "absolute lies." The party demanded that Winter retract his statements immediately or face a defamation lawsuit. The ruling party further expressed regret that Winter chose to attack Likud instead of combating the rise of the left, thereby endangering a right-wing victory in the upcoming elections.
