משרד הבריאות הישראלי פרסם ב-15 בספטמבר 2026 הנחיה מחייבת לכל תושבי העיר כרמיאל להרתיח את מי השתייה לפני השימוש.

ההחלטה התקבלה בעקבות תוצאות בדיקות מעבדה של דגימות מים, אשר הראו חריגות מהתקן הסניטרי. על פי ההנחיה, יש להרתיח את המים לפני שתייה, בישול, הכנת תרופות או צחצוח שיניים.

עם זאת, המשרד הבהיר כי ההגבלות אינן חלות על שימושים ביתיים שאינם לצריכה, כגון מקלחת או רחצה.

ההנחיה תישאר בתוקף עד לקבלת תוצאות תקינות בבדיקות חוזרות ועד להודעה רשמית על ביטולה.
